The annual Brighton Marathon takes place on Sunday 7th April and here's your rundown on the road closures for the event.

Brighton

Madeira Drive is closed from 6am on Saturday 6th April until 6pm on Sunday 7th between the Palace Pier roundabout Dukes Mound.

On Sunday 7th

Lower Rock Gardens out to Roedean Road and the westbound A259 will be closed from 6am to 3.30pm

the A259 from Pool Valley to Montpelier road will be closed from 6am until 4.30pm

The A23 Preston Road will be closed from 6:30am and will reopen around 12:15pm

The area around Preston Park will be closed from 6:30am reopening around midday.

Preston Circus down to the Old Steine and Lewes Road from Melbourne Street to Grand Parade will be closed from 6am to 1:15pm

St James Street and it's junctions will be closed from 8am to 1pm

The A259 Marine Drive will be closed between Roedean Road and Nevill Road, and Greenways will be closed between Marine Drive and Ainsworth Avenue, from 8am to 3pm

Hove

The A259 Kingsway will be closed between Montpelier Road and Grand Avenue from 6am to 6pm. The cycle lane along Kingsway, Kings Road and Madeira Drive will also be closed.

Church Road from Grand Avenue to Sackville Road, New Church Road from Sackville Road to Seaford Road, and Boundary Road from New Church Road to Seaford Road will be closed from 8.30am until 6pm. Seaford Road, St Leonards Road, Saxon Road, Marine Avenue, Wish Road, Tandridge Road and Norman Road will also be closed during those times.

and Wharf Road, Basin Road South and Western Esplanade will be closed from 6am to 6.30pm.
