Emergency crews were called to a diner after a suspected electrical fault sparked a small fire in the building’s basement.
Staff at HS Diner confirmed the incident happened earlier today, prompting a response from firefighters and engineers from UK Power Networks.
In a statement shared online, the diner thanked the emergency services for their swift response.
They said: “A big thank you to the incredible fire crew and UK Power Networks who came out to us today after a suspected electrical fault caused a small fire in our basement.”
The restaurant confirmed that everyone was safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews quickly brought the situation under control while engineers checked the electrical supply to ensure the building was safe.
The diner said it is now assessing the damage and carrying out safety checks before reopening, adding that it will update customers once it knows when it can welcome people back.
Staff also thanked the local community for their support, saying messages and visits from concerned customers “mean the world.”
