Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of deliberate hay bale fires at Berwick Court Farm in Polegate.
Between 29 July and 9 August, officers responded to five separate incidents in which hay bales were set alight late at night. The fires happened on 29 July around 11pm, 30 July just after midnight, 5 August at about 9.30pm, 7 August at 11.30pm, and 9 August at around 11.45pm.
Police believe the incidents are linked and are treating them as deliberate. They warn the fires not only cause costly damage but also carry a real risk of spreading to surrounding fields and property in the dry summer conditions.
Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, or who has CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from around the farm during the dates and times of the incidents, is urged to get in touch.
Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1712 of 09/08.
