A man has been found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a woman in Brighton.
Darrell Moore, 33, of Albert Carr Gardens in Streatham, was convicted at Hove Crown Court of two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.
The attack happened on 15 May 2022 after a night out in a beachfront nightclub. Moore and the victim were part of a group who later went to a friend’s flat in the city. Once there, he targeted the woman and carried out the assaults in a separate room.
Moore denied the charges but was found guilty by a jury on 24 October 2025 following a trial that began on 20 October.
He will be sentenced on 16 January 2026.
Detective Constable Elaine Welsh said
“It was a distressing case and praised the victim’s bravery for helping bring Moore to justice. She said the verdict had helped remove this predator from our streets.”
Support for victims of sexual offences is available through Sussex Police and local support services.
