A man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Worthing that prompted a emergency response including armed officers.
Emergency services were called to New Parade at around 3.20pm on Thursday, March 5, following reports that a man had been stabbed.
A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. According to Sussex Police, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and he is currently in a stable condition.
Police confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. A 31-year-old man from Worthing has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Detective Inspector Chris May said:
“Two men have been arrested in relation to this incident.
“This is an active investigation and we encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information, such as CCTV or mobile phone footage, to contact us.
“There will be patrols in the area for reassurance, and people are encouraged to stop and talk to officers.”
