Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Chichester city centre.
The incident occurred at around 7pm on 14 March outside the Dolphin and Anchor public house in West Street.
A 61-year-old local man was approached by a man unknown to him before being assaulted. During the attack, the victim may have been struck with a bottle, leaving him with injuries.
Officers have arrested a 20-year-old local man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Sussex Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant mobile phone footage or CCTV, to come forward.
