A major fire in Seaford this morning (28 December 2025) prompted a large-scale emergency response, with multiple fire crews, police and ambulance services rushing to the scene.
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) were called to Cliff Close, Seaford, at 2.43am following reports of a fire at a property.
Initially, four fire appliances, a Control Unit and an Aerial Ladder Platform were dispatched. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using one main jet and two hose reel jets.
As the incident escalated, the response was significantly increased. By 5am, eight fire appliances were in attendance, with crews continuing to battle the fire using two main jets and two hose reel jets. Sussex Police and the Ambulance Service were also deployed to the scene.
Emergency services confirmed that two casualties were treated by the Ambulance Service, though their conditions have not been disclosed.
Residents were urged to avoid the area while crews worked to bring the situation under control.
An update issued at 6am confirmed the fire had been successfully extinguished. Fire crews are due to return to the property at approximately 8.30am to carry out a reinspection.
A fire investigation will take place in due course to establish the cause of the blaze.
