A man has been charged and remanded in custody following a police raid in Hove which uncovered a cannabis cultivation operation.
On the morning of Wednesday, August 13, officers executed a warrant at a property in Wish Road. Inside, they discovered a number of cannabis plants along with specialist growing equipment.
During the search, a man was found inside the address and arrested as part of ongoing enquiries into the production and supply of controlled drugs.
Later that day, Hung Nguyen, 39, of Wish Road, Hove, was charged with multiple offences, including:
Abstracting or using electricity without authority
Obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of duty
Being concerned in the production of a Class B drug
Being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug
Nguyen appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 15, where he was remanded in custody.
Police enquiries remain ongoing. Officers are urging anyone with information that could assist the investigation to report it online or call 101, quoting reference 291 of 13/08.
