Concerns have been raised over drug use and anti-social behaviour at a homeless encampment outside Eastbourne Railway Station, prompting calls for urgent action from authorities.
Members of the public have reported a “grim welcome” at the town’s main transport hub, with a bed at the camp covered in half-used packets of pills and discarded needles.

There have also been reports of people being harassed while entering and leaving the station, raising safety concerns for commuters and visitors.
In addition, a witnesses claim two individuals were allegedly engaged in sexual activity inside the station toilets adn had to be removed by security. As a result of ongoing drug use, the station’s disabled toilet has reportedly been locked.
The situation has sparked criticism of the response from relevant authorities, with calls for British Transport Police, Sussex Police and Eastbourne Borough Council to intervene and address the issues.
Local residents and commuters say the current conditions are unacceptable at one of the town’s busiest public locations and are urging a coordinated response to ensure safety, accessibility and appropriate support for vulnerable individuals.
Authorities have been approached for comment.
