A couple from Worthing have been given Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) after repeatedly shoplifting from local stores.
Jessica Tutton, 33, and Grant Tutton, 41, both from Chippers Close in Tarring, carried out a series of thefts between August 2024 and February 2025. Police said the pair worked together while stealing items from shops across Worthing.
Officers explained that one would distract staff while the other took goods. Items stolen included beer, meat, chocolate and other products, with the total value exceeding £700.
The couple were arrested on 15 February 2025 following reports of shoplifting on Rectory Road. They later appeared at Worthing Magistrates’ Court, where they pleaded guilty to all charges.
Both were issued with one-year Criminal Behaviour Orders. The orders ban them from entering the Tesco store on Rectory Road in Tarring.
Police said Criminal Behaviour Orders are used to prevent repeat offending and to protect local businesses from ongoing retail crime.
