New Business Hit Hard After Windows Smashed in Overnight Attack
A Worthing burger restaurant is offering a £1,000 reward for information after its shopfront windows were smashed overnight in what owners have called a heartbreaking act of vandalism.
Smash’d Burgers, located in Ham Road, was targeted late on Saturday night (June 22), along with the neighbouring A Star Waste Management office.
In a public appeal, the owners said:
“We’re gutted and angry. We’ve only been open around three months, and this is going to cost us a lot to put right — not just financially, but emotionally too. It’s a hard hit to take when all we’re trying to do is bring something good to the local area.”
The incident has been reported to Sussex Police. Anyone with information is urged to come forward. Those wishing to report anonymously to the business can do so, with the £1,000 reward offered for the name and address of the person responsible.
The police crime reference number is 4725/0120465.
