A woman has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Eastbourne town centre on Monday evening.
Police were called to reports of an incident in Terminus Road at around 8.30pm. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment. Her condition has not been confirmed.
Sussex Police said there will be a high-visibility police presence in the area as officers carry out enquiries to locate the suspect and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Members of the public who witnessed what happened, or who may have captured relevant mobile phone footage, CCTV or dashcam footage, are urged to come forward.
