    Emergency Services Respond to Welfare Incident on Marine Parade

    Emergency services were called to Marine Parade in Brighton on Wednesday afternoon (30 July) following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman near Madeira Drive.

    South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), along with the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, attended the scene. The woman was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.

    A Sussex Police spokesperson told Sussex News:
    “On Wednesday (30 July) at around 1.40pm, emergency services received reports of concern for a woman’s welfare in Madeira Drive, Brighton. Officers engaged with the woman, who was taken to hospital by the Ambulance Service with serious injuries.”

    Due to prior contact with the woman, Sussex Police has made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) in line with standard procedure.

    No further details have been released, and the woman’s current condition has not been confirmed.
