Community facility damaged in incident involving paint, water and broken fittings – officers urge anyone with information to come forward
Police are appealing for information after a serious incident of vandalism at the sports pavilion on Gunters Lane in Bexhill, discovered on Friday, 14 June.
Officers were called to the scene following reports of damage to the interior of the building, which is used by local sports teams and community groups.
The pavilion sustained extensive damage, including:
- Broken lights and doors
- White paint thrown throughout the interior
- Taps deliberately left running, causing water damage
Police say the incident has caused significant disruption and distress to the local community. Several lines of enquiry are being pursued to identify those responsible.
Witnesses Sought
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the area near the sports field adjacent to Bexhill Academy and who might have noticed:
- Suspicious activity near the pavilion
- Individuals carrying paint or tools
- Anyone with white paint on their clothing or belongings
