Two men have admitted their roles in supplying Class A drugs in Crawley following a targeted police operation aimed at dismantling county lines activity.

Abdiqadir Ali, 25, and Bashir Mohammed, 27, both from north London, pleaded guilty to multiple offences linked to the distribution of crack cocaine in the town. The pair were connected to a drugs network known as the “Silver” line, which was operating locally.

The arrests came after officers executed a warrant at a property in Langley Drive in the early hours of 12 March. During the operation, police observed packages of drugs being thrown from a window of the address. A subsequent search uncovered further quantities of Class A substances along with nearly £6,000 in cash.

Both men were charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, money laundering offences, and possession of cannabis. They appeared before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on the same day, where they admitted the charges.

The case forms part of a wider crackdown during County Lines Intensification Week, a coordinated effort to disrupt organised drug networks and protect vulnerable individuals exploited by them.

Across West Sussex, the operation saw officers carry out 10 warrants, resulting in 37 arrests. Police also seized £12,000 in cash, 17 mobile phones, 12 knives, and a vehicle. In addition, 26 children and 20 vulnerable adults were identified and safeguarded as part of the initiative.

Detectives say county lines drug dealing often involves the exploitation of young and vulnerable people, who are coerced into transporting and selling drugs or having their homes taken over by criminal groups.

Ali and Mohammed are due to be sentenced at a crown court, with a hearing scheduled for 9 April.

Police have confirmed that further charges and convictions are expected as investigations linked to the operation continue.
