Chichester Pair Arrested Following Overnight Burglary Spree
Two individuals have been arrested as part of a police investigation into a series of burglaries and attempted break-ins in the Chichester area. The incidents took place overnight between Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29, targeting homes and properties in Compton and Funtington.
The arrests follow multiple reports of suspicious activity and unauthorized entries during the early hours, specifically between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Police Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Continues
A 23-year-old man from Chichester has been arrested on several charges, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of an offensive weapon. Alongside him, a 21-year-old woman—also from Chichester—was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary, possessing an offensive weapon, and possession of a Class B drug.
Both suspects have since been released on conditional bail while investigations remain active.
Sussex Police are urging members of the public who were in the area during the hours in question and witnessed anything unusual to come forward. Authorities are particularly interested in reviewing any available CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage that could help piece together the events of that night.
