A unique charity event is set to take place this weekend as fundraisers prepare to take part in a topless sea swim along the Sussex coast.
The event will be held on Brighton beach on Sunday (March 22), with participants entering the water at 2pm to raise money and awareness for the breast cancer charity CoppaFeel!.
Organisers say the swim aims to encourage open conversations around breast health, particularly among younger people, while promoting the importance of regular chest checks. The initiative is expected to draw around 50 participants, with more supporters anticipated on the day.
In promotional material for the event, organisers emphasised that the topless aspect is entirely optional, with inclusivity at the heart of the event.
“Anyone interested in the cause is welcome to attend regardless of their comfort level,” organisers said, adding that people can take part “in whatever way suits them best.”
The swim forms part of ongoing efforts by CoppaFeel! to raise awareness of early detection, using bold and engaging campaigns to reach wider audiences.
Supporters who do not wish to enter the water are still encouraged to attend, donate, and show their support along the seafront.
The event is expected to create a striking visual display on Brighton beach, while reinforcing an important public health message ahead of the summer season.
