Lee Gibson, 40, of no fixed address, Owen Ellis, 26, of no fixed address, and Craig Brown, 42, of Arthur Road, Ifield, are all due to appear in court in January in relation to separate incidents.

Gibson was arrested on 11 December on suspicion of three counts of burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and breaching bail conditions.

He was charged the following day at Brighton Magistrates’ Court with the same offences and remanded into custody. Gibson is next due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 9 January.

Ellis was arrested on 30 November on suspicion of two counts of theft from a shop and one count of burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal, and was remanded into custody.

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court the next day, Ellis was charged with the offences and pleaded guilty to two counts of theft from a shop. He pleaded not guilty to the burglary charge on 2 December at the same court.

Ellis was remanded in custody and is due to stand trial at Portsmouth Crown Court on 6 January.

Brown was initially arrested on 9 November on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal and was released on bail pending further investigation.

He was subsequently arrested again on 26 November on suspicion of harassment putting a person in fear of violence and possession of a Class A drug, in connection with an incident at an address in Grasmere Court, Crawley. He was remanded into custody.

Brown was charged with all three offences at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 28 November and remains in custody ahead of his next appearance at the same court on 6 January.
