Brighton, UK – Over 14,000 cyclists took part in the 2025 London to Brighton Bike Ride on Sunday, completing the 54-mile route in support of heart health and other vital causes. Riders set off from Clapham Common in London between 6:00 and 9:30 a.m., finishing at Brighton’s Madeira Drive throughout the afternoon.
The event, now in its 47th year, is organised by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and raises millions each year for heart and circulatory disease research. Cyclists tackled the iconic Ditchling Beacon, a steep one-mile hill near the South Downs that remains a defining feature of the route.
The day was supported by rest stops, medical teams, and volunteers along the route. Crowds lined the roads through Surrey and Sussex, cheering riders through villages and across the finish line by the sea.
Riders described the event as inspirational. “There’s a real sense of community,” said returning participant Rachel Moore. “It’s not a race—it’s about doing something meaningful together.”

Looking Ahead to 2026
Next year’s London to Brighton Bike Ride will take place on Sunday, 21 June 2026. Registration opens in July 2025 via the British Heart Foundation.
In addition to the BHF, many other national charities were represented in this year’s ride, including:
Diabetes UK
