Sussex Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Crawley and have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak with.
The incident occurred on 15 December 2025 at around 5:40pm. A 15-year-old girl reported being accosted in an alleyway while walking from Hambleton Hill towards Caburn Heights. The suspect attempted to grab her phone before fleeing towards Ditchling Hill in Southgate.
Police describe the suspect as a South Asian man, approximately 5’11”, wearing dark clothing.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, recognises the man, or has information to come forward. Reports can be made online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1016 of 15/12/2025.
Sussex Police emphasised the importance of community support in identifying suspects and preventing further offences.
