I recently visited The Seahorse in Brighton and came away genuinely impressed. Set right on the seafront, it offers a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere that feels equally suited to casual drinks or something far more special.
The drinks selection is excellent. Cocktails are well balanced, beautifully presented, and clearly made with quality ingredients. There’s a strong wine list and a solid choice of spirits, making it easy to find something to suit the occasion.

Prices are reasonable for the location. Spirits start at £5.50 for a single and up to £12.90 for a double, while wine ranges from £29.00 a bottle up to £79.00 for a magnum. Wine is sold in 125ml, 175ml or by the bottle. But I would ask for a large, as they do do them.
For a Brighton seafront venue, that’s far from overpriced and sits comfortably within market expectations.
Service was attentive and professional without being intrusive. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick to respond even during busier periods.
The venue was well maintained throughout. Tables and bar areas were tidy, and importantly, the toilets were clean and clearly well looked after. The outside seating area is sometimes closed, which is understandable given the exposed seafront location — particularly when the wind is blowing. The downstairs is closed a lot of the time, but as it’s a special area for your special day or private do.
Like so many venues these days, the menu drops the zero at the end of prices — £9 instead of £9.00. It’s a small detail, but it drives me bonkers. Precision matters.
