A recent visit to Tato & Topping in Brighton provided a very enjoyable café experience, with high-quality food and welcoming staff helping to create a pleasant atmosphere.
From the moment of arrival, the staff were friendly and acknowledged customers entering the café, which immediately made the environment feel welcoming. Service throughout the visit was polite and efficient, with staff attentive without being intrusive and ensuring customers felt looked after.
The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the food. The dishes were well prepared, fresh, and full of flavour, with good presentation that showed care in both preparation and quality. This clearly stands out as one of the café’s strongest points and is likely a key reason many people choose to visit.

In terms of cleanliness, the café appeared well maintained. Tables and the surrounding dining areas were tidy, creating a comfortable and hygienic environment where customers could relax and enjoy their food and drinks. However, the seating area itself is quite small, which can make the space feel a little limited, particularly during busier periods.

The only area where the experience felt slightly weaker was value for money. While the food quality is very good, the prices feel a little higher than expected for what is offered. This doesn’t take away from the overall quality, but it may make it more of an occasional treat rather than a regular stop for some visitors.
