A section of a road in Eastbourne was cordoned off after a body was found outside a house.
Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a person discovered outside a property. Paramedics attended, but the individual was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police officers placed a cordon around the area while initial inquiries were carried out. The road was temporarily closed to allow forensic teams to examine the scene.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said:
“We were called following reports of a body found outside a property in Eastbourne. The person was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the individual and to establish the full circumstances.”
The person’s identity has not yet been released, and police have not confirmed whether the death is being treated as suspicious.
Officers have asked anyone with information, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the area to contact police by calling 101 and quoting reference 181 of 22/10.
