Police are appealing for the public’s help to locate Simon Meech, who is wanted in connection with a violent assault on an 85-year-old man in Eastbourne.
The incident is reported to have taken place on Friday evening, 9 January, and left the elderly victim injured. Officers say Meech is also wanted in relation to theft and criminal damage offences.
Meech, who is 44 years old, is believed to have links across East Sussex, including Eastbourne, Seaford, Newhaven and Brighton, and may be travelling between these areas.
Sussex Police have urged members of the public not to approach him. Anyone who sees Meech or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 999 immediately, quoting crime reference 47260005635.
Police say all information will be treated seriously as enquiries continue.
