Police were called to a church in Brighton after concerned members of the public reported seeing a man allegedly using a knife to vandalise the building.
The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Sunday, 6 June, outside Trinity Church on Trinity Street.
Sussex Police confirmed to Sussex News: “Officers attended Trinity Street, Brighton at around 6.40pm on Sunday (6 June) following a report of a knife being used to commit criminal damage outside a church.”
A 45-year-old man was detained at the scene and searched by officers.
He was found to be in possession of cannabis and has since been issued with a community resolution — a formal alternative to prosecution for low-level offences.
