Sussex Police have issued an appeal to help identify a man in connection with two sexual assaults reported onboard buses in Brighton.

The most recent incident occurred at around 6pm on Friday, 11 April, onboard the number 24 bus to Hollingbury. It is being linked to a previous offence that took place on Sunday, 3 September last year, at approximately 5pm onboard the number 29 bus to Tunbridge Wells.

In both cases, it was reported that a man sat closely next to female passengers and placed his hand on their thighs from under a coat positioned on his lap.

Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with these incidents. He is described as white, aged between 25 and 35, of slim build, with short brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing and glasses at the time of the incidents and is known to have a distinctive round black tattoo on the back of his right hand.

Officers are treating the two offences as linked and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or recognises the man described to come forward.

Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 124 of 04/12.
