The incident happened at The Railway pub on London Road between 11.30pm and 11.50pm on Thursday, 7 November.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital for treatment after the attack and has since been discharged, police confirmed.
Officers are now urging anyone who saw what happened—or who may hold crucial footage—to come forward.
They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, mobile phone video, or dashcam footage from the area at the time.
