    Police Release CCTV Image After Glass Bottle Stabbing on Brighton to Haywards Heath Train

    Detectives have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak with in connection to a serious assault involving a glass bottle on a train travelling between Brighton and Haywards Heath.

    The incident occurred just after midnight on Tuesday, 1 July, when a violent altercation broke out on board the service. During the fight, a person was seen threatening a man with a glass bottle before smashing it and stabbing him in the chest.

    British Transport Police and paramedics were called to Haywards Heath Station, where two individuals were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but was later released without charge. Another man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

    Officers believe the woman captured in the CCTV image may have vital information that could assist with their investigation.
