Police are appealing for witnesses following a report that a woman was sexually assaulted at a Brighton public house.
The incident is reported to have taken place at The Market Inn, in Market Street, on Friday evening, 9 January.
Staff at the venue contacted police after the allegation was made. A 41-year-old local man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has since been released on bail while further enquiries are carried out.
PC Jacob Miller said:
“We are appealing for witnesses to an incident that night, or to any similar incidents, to contact police on 101, quoting serial 1469 of 9/1.”
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Sussex Police.
