Sussex Police said a 17-year-old boy was approached by a man at a bus stop near Asda in Battle Road at around 11.30pm on Thursday, January 30. The pair are reported to have walked together towards Lidl in Bohemia Road, where the offence is alleged to have taken place.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged around 40, bald, with a goatee beard and wearing glasses.

Detective Inspector Barry Chandler said officers are carrying out extensive enquiries and urged anyone who may have information to come forward.

He said people who were in the area of Asda in Battle Road or Lidl in Bohemia Road that evening, or who have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, could hold vital information.
