An 18-year-old man has been charged after a stabbing incident in Eastbourne on Saturday morning (3 May).
Police were called shortly after 7.30am to Terminus Road, following reports that a man had been injured with a knife.
The victim, a 30-year-old man from Eastbourne, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm but have since been released with no further action and eliminated from enquiries.
Following further investigation, Logan Horrocks, 18, of Station Road, Newhaven, was arrested and later charged with grievous bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody to appear in court on Wednesday, 7 May.
Chief Inspector Mark Evans, Eastbourne District Commander, said: “We recognise this incident will have caused concern within the local community. I would like to reassure residents that the matter was dealt with swiftly and suspects were arrested. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
“Additional patrols have taken place in recent days and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area to provide reassurance.”
