Sussex Police are appealing for help to identify a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault in Terminus Road, Eastbourne.
Emergency services were called at around 8.30pm on Monday, 15 December, following reports that a woman had been stabbed in the leg. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
The man police wish to identify is described as white, around 5ft 6in tall, aged in his late teens to early twenties, with light brown hair. He was wearing a grey puffer jacket and dark-coloured trousers, possibly joggers.
An 18-year-old man from Eastbourne who was previously arrested in connection with the incident has been released from custody and has been eliminated from police enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Pittman, from Eastbourne CID, said officers are continuing to pursue a number of active lines of investigation and that there will remain a visible police presence in the area to provide reassurance.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage and has not yet spoken to police, is urged to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 1276 of 15/12.
