A man from Bognor Regis has been jailed after sexually assaulting two women while they slept.
At Lewes Crown Court on Monday 19 January, Harry Triggs was sentenced to 36 months – 18 months in custody and 18 months on extended licence – after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences. He was also issued a 10-year restraining order protecting both victims.
The court heard that in August 2021, Triggs sexually assaulted a female friend at her home while she was asleep. In a separate incident in July 2022, he sexually assaulted another woman by penetration while she was in a vulnerable state and asleep.
Triggs was first arrested in August 2022 in connection with the July 2022 offence and later released on bail while enquiries continued. Following the second victim coming forward, the first woman also reported her experience, leading to Triggs being charged on 1 September with two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual assault by penetration.
He pleaded guilty to all charges in November 2025, avoiding a trial.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“By coming forward the victim-survivors showed immense courage and bravery. If you have any concerns or have experienced a sexual offence, please come forward and report it. Support is available.”
