Masked intruder left victim with facial injuries before fleeing Ravenscroft property
Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses following a shocking assault on a 77-year-old woman in her own home in Storrington.
The attack occurred around 9.45pm on Friday, 16 May, at a property in Ravenscroft, where an unknown man wearing a balaclava forced entry before physically assaulting the elderly resident, leaving her with facial injuries.
The suspect then fled the scene. At this time, it remains unclear what his motive was.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious—or who may have captured relevant video footage—to come forward as enquiries continue.
A 39-year-old man from Storrington has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He has since been bailed with conditions until 19 July while the investigation progresses.
