Passengers travelling through Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport are continuing to experience disruption today, Monday 2 March 2026, as flight cancellations and delays impact services linked to the Middle East.

The disruption follows escalating tensions in the region, which have led to the closure of key airspace corridors used by airlines operating between the UK, the Gulf, and parts of Asia. As a result, multiple carriers have suspended, rerouted, or cancelled services for safety reasons.

At Heathrow, dozens of long-haul departures have been affected, particularly routes to major Gulf hubs including Dubai and Doha. On Sunday, scheduled departures to some Middle Eastern destinations were cancelled, and the knock-on impact is continuing into Monday’s schedule. Several airlines have reduced frequencies or withdrawn services entirely while airspace restrictions remain in place.

Gatwick has also warned passengers of delays and cancellations, with a number of long-haul and connecting flights either postponed or withdrawn. Although the airport remains operational, airlines are advising customers to check their flight status before travelling, as schedules are subject to change at short notice.

Air India has confirmed additional cancellations on London routes, while several Gulf-based carriers have extended operational suspensions affecting UK services. The disruption is not limited to direct Middle East routes; secondary delays are being recorded on other long-haul services due to aircraft displacement and crew positioning issues across international networks.

Airport authorities at both Heathrow and Gatwick have urged passengers to monitor airline communications closely. Travellers whose flights are cancelled are typically offered rebooking options or refunds in line with airline policies, though availability on alternative services may be limited while disruption continues.

Further changes to schedules remain possible as airlines assess airspace safety and operational viability. Passengers due to travel in the coming days are strongly advised to confirm the status of their flight before departing for the airport.
