Five teenagers have been charged with burglary following a rapid police response to a business break-in in Brighton early on Sunday morning.
Police were called to City Plumbing Supplies in Freshfield Industrial Estate at around 3.07am on Sunday, 12 October, after security were alerted to a possible break-in.
Officers arrived just four minutes later, at 3.11am, where they discovered lights on inside the building, a damaged front door, and five people still at the scene.
All five suspects were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Charged and bailed
Following enquiries, Diego Stoian, 18, of Keynsham Gardens, Greenwich, has been charged with burglary.
Four boys aged 15, 15, 17, and 17, all from London, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have also been charged with burglary.
All five have been released on conditional bail and are due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 13 November.
Police response
The swift arrests were made possible thanks to the rapid response of officers following an alert from security staff monitoring the premises.
Police say investigations are ongoing as part of continued efforts to tackle burglary and business crime across Brighton and Hove.
