East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) was called to a fire at a high-rise block of flats in Wellington Road, Brighton, on Monday evening (3 November).
Emergency crews were alerted at 6.50pm to reports of a blaze affecting a flat on the fourth floor of the building.
A large number of fire engines were sent to the scene due to the height and scale of the incident. Seven fire engines, an Aerial Ladder Platform, and the Command Support Unit attended, supported by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Sussex Police, and South East Coast Ambulance Service.
By 8pm, the fire had been successfully extinguished.
There are no reports of injuries, but residents on the fourth floor were evacuated as a precaution while crews carried out safety checks on the surrounding floors.
An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
