Firefighters were called to a fire in a fourth-floor flat on Wellington Road, Brighton, on Monday evening (3 November).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received the call at around 6.50pm and sent seven fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and a command support unit to the scene. Crews from West Sussex also assisted, along with police and ambulance teams.
Residents in the affected flat were evacuated, and checks were carried out on neighbouring floors to ensure the fire had not spread.

The blaze was brought under control by around 8pm, and there were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters remained on site to carry out safety checks and start an investigation into the cause of the fire.
People were advised to avoid the area while emergency services dealt with the incident.
