Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported robbery on King Edward Parade near the junction with Bolsover Road, Eastbourne.
The incident happened at around 10.30am on Wednesday, 24 August.
It is understood that a cyclist was travelling along King Edward Parade when he was overtaken by a green Volkswagen Caddy. The vehicle parked nearby, and the cyclist later approached the motorist, leading to a verbal altercation.
During the exchange, the suspect allegedly removed a camera mounted to the victim’s bike. A physical altercation followed but was quickly de-escalated by members of the public. The suspect then left the scene, and the cyclist realised the camera was missing.
Police confirmed that a 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Investigators are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have CCTV or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
