Sussex Police have charged two men following proactive patrols targeting suspected drug dealing in the North Laine area.
Officers responded to community reports of drug activity around Over Street and Frederick Gardens. During patrols, a 26-year-old local man was stopped in Oliver Street after meeting with individuals. He was found in possession of more than 200 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, along with a sum of cash, and was arrested.
A second man, aged 39, with links to both London and Brighton, was also arrested nearby after being found with crack cocaine.
Following the arrests, officers conducted a search of an address on Tichbourne Street, recovering additional quantities of crack cocaine and heroin.
The two men, Dillano Van Der Bent of Kenilworth Close, Brighton, and El-Hadji Lo of Tichbourne Street, Brighton, have both been charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.
They are due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 30 January.
