Police were called to a road traffic collision in Rye after a vehicle left the road and ended up partially submerged following a slide on a wet grass verge.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team attended the scene and found that the car had taken what they described as an “unexpected detour” before coming to rest in shallow water.
Fortunately, no one was injured, and after checks were carried out, police confirmed that no offences had been committed.
The driver was given words of advice about adjusting their driving to suit the road and weather conditions, especially during recent wet weather across East Sussex.
