A car overturned on Southover Street in Brighton on Tuesday afternoon, prompting an emergency response and the temporary closure of the road.

The incident occurred during the afternoon when a single vehicle rolled onto its side, blocking part of the carriageway. Sussex Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, with officers closing the street to traffic and restricting pedestrian access while the situation was dealt with.

No serious injuries have been reported. It is understood the occupant of the vehicle did not require hospital treatment.

Images and video shared locally showed the car resting on its side as emergency services worked nearby. Police remained at the scene for some time to ensure the area was safe and to arrange for the vehicle to be recovered.
