A Brighton man has been found guilty of murdering a young couple in their Newhaven home after admitting to a violent attack that left both victims dead.
Derek Martin, 67, of Brighton, East Sussex, was convicted at Brighton Law Courts of murdering 33-year-old Josh Bashford and his 30-year-old wife,

Martin had previously admitted manslaughter but denied murder, claiming he was suffering from diminished responsibility at the time of the killings.
The case shocked the local community of Newhaven, where residents described the Bashfords as a loving couple devoted to their children.
Martin will be sentenced at a later date.
