A man has been charged with stalking and weapons offences following an investigation into threats made to a woman in Brighton.
Sussex Police said a woman in her 30s reported receiving repeated unwanted messages, videos and voice notes between December 31, 2025, and Saturday, February 7. The communications allegedly threatened serious violence and to burn down her home.
Officers launched an investigation and arrested Desi Hayward, 33, of Falmer Road, Brighton, on suspicion of stalking involving fear of violence.
During enquiries, police also arrested him on suspicion of two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place after two bladed weapons were found at a property linked to him.
Hayward has now been charged with all three offences and has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 9.
Police said enquiries into the case have been ongoing.
