Officers were called after one of the girls reported being followed and recorded while walking to school on 17 December at about 8 a.m., along Turkey Road and into Gunter’s Lane.
Police have released images of a man they wish to speak with as part of their investigation. Detective Inspector Barry Chandler said officers have been carrying out extensive checks in the area and have increased patrols around local schools to provide reassurance and deter similar incidents.
The man is described as wearing dark clothing, including a black puffer-style jacket and dark jogging bottoms.
Anyone who recognises him, or has information that could assist, is urged to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 273 of 17/12.
