Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a car was stolen in Seaford following a theft at The Salts Recreation Ground.
The incident occurred on Friday, 3 May, between 3pm and 4.30pm, when a Garmin watch and a car key were reported stolen from the cricket club team chalet. The stolen key was then used to take a white Citroën DS4, which had been parked in nearby Park Road.
A man and a woman were seen in the area around the time of the incident and are believed to be linked to the theft.
The man is described as around 5’8″ tall, with short greying hair, and was seen carrying a can of beer. He was accompanied by a woman thought to be about 40 years old, much shorter in height, with brown or reddish hair and a dishevelled appearance. She was reported to be carrying a bottle of cider.
Following investigations, police arrested a 50-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman on Saturday, 4 May, on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle. They have both been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
