The A27 westbound between the Kingston roundabout and Carden Avenue in Brighton has reopened following a fatal collision earlier today.
Sussex Police confirmed the closure was necessary while officers investigated a single-vehicle crash that occurred at around 2:00 AM. Tragically, one man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and officers offered their condolences to the family.
Motorists are advised that significant delays may continue as traffic returns to normal.
Sussex Police Statement:
“We can confirm that the A27 westbound between the Kingston roundabout and Carden Avenue, Brighton junction has now reopened. The closure was in place while officers were at the scene of a fatal single-vehicle collision this morning at around 2am. One man was declared deceased at the scene, his next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family during this time. We advise motorists that continued delays are likely whilst the road reopens.”
Drivers are urged to plan alternative routes if possible and allow extra travel time.
