Thirteen people were arrested during an immigration enforcement raid at a warehouse in Shoreham-by-Sea.
The operation was carried out by Home Office Immigration Enforcement officers, who attended the premises as part of ongoing checks targeting illegal working. Those arrested were suspected of working in the UK without the correct legal permission.
Officers confirmed that the individuals detained were taken into custody for further investigation. Some are understood to have been held pending immigration action, including possible removal from the UK.
The Home Office said the raid forms part of a wider national effort to tackle illegal working and ensure employers are complying with right-to-work laws.
A spokesperson said enforcement action is regularly carried out across the country to prevent exploitation and protect legitimate businesses that follow the rules.
No further details about the individuals or the business involved have been released.
