  • 🚂 There's overnight engineering work again tonight between #Brighton and #Worthing starting around 2330. Trains from London #Victoria to Worthing and #Chichester will be diverted to run to Brighton, buses will then replace trains between those stations.

  • 🚧 Saturday 4th May is the annual #Brighton Festival Children's Parade. There'll be closures in the City Centre between 6am and 3pm.

  • 🦺 The Drive in #Hove has crane works so the northbound side is closed from the junction with Church Road from 9am until 3.30 today (1st May)

  • 🦺 Cannon Place in #Brighton has been made a temporary one way due to a crane being in situ for the next couple of days.

  • 🚧 There are closures on Wilson Avenue and Manor Hill today due to racing at #Brighton Racecourse.

  • 🚧 Shelley Road in #Hove is closed until 3rd May for works by UK Power Networks.

  • 🚦 Portland Road in #Hove has two way lights for the next month between Chelston Avenue and Glebe Villas.

  • 🚧 Clarendon Place in #Brighton is closed until 25th July.

  • 🚧 Dyke Road Drive in #Brighton is closed at the junction of Park View Terrace, Highcroft Villas and Port Hall Avenue. That closure's in place until 23rd August.

 

Brighton Festival Children's Parade

Saturday 4th May 2024

The annual Children's Parade takes place this Saturday (4th May) starting from around 10.30am in Jubilee Street. The event goes through Brighton City Centre finishing at Madeira Drive.

There'll be several road closures in the city centre from 6am until 3pm although some roads will be accessible as soon as the parade clears.

The route for the parade is:

Jubilee Street
New Road
North Street
East Street
Grand Junction Road
Madeira Drive

and the following roads will be closed:

Kensington Street
Robert Street
Vine Street
North Rd (Tichbourne Street to A23 Marlborough Pl)
Jubilee Street
New Road
Pelham Street
Trafalgar Street (Whitecross Street to A259 York Place)
Pelham Sq
Sydney Street
Gloucester Street (Sydney Street to St Georges Mews)
Gloucester Road (Kensington Street to Cheltenham Pl)
North Street
East Street (section north of Prince Albert Street)
Brills Lane
A259 Grand Junction Road (temporary traffic lights)
Madeira Drive
Dukes Mound

The eastbound A27 has some weekend closures between the Manor Roundabout and the Adur Interchange:

  • 9pm on Friday 10 May to 6am on Monday 13 May
  • 9pm on Friday 7 June to 6am on Monday 10 June

A diversion will be in place via the A27, A24 and A283.

Local access will be maintained to the airport and residents with direct access off the eastbound A27 within the closure.

There will also be regular overnight lane closures on both sides of the A27 over the next few months.

Work is due to be completed in June 2024.
