A man from West Sussex has been remanded in custody after a threatening video circulated online, prompting swift action by Sussex Police.

Daniel Holland, 40, of Southwater Street, Southwater, was first arrested on 5 September after a video appeared online in which he allegedly made threats to kill. Following initial inquiries, he was released on bail pending further investigation.

However, as the case developed, Holland was re-arrested on 31 October on suspicion of sending a communication containing threats to kill or cause serious harm. He was later charged and appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 1 November, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing scheduled for 11 November.

The investigation began after police received reports of the online video, which quickly drew public concern. Detectives reviewed the footage and digital evidence before moving to arrest Holland. Officers have reiterated that any form of threatening behaviour, whether in person or online, will be taken seriously and dealt with robustly.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said the case serves as a reminder that “words have consequences” and that online threats can result in serious criminal charges.
